Policies
SightFind Advertising and Sponsorship Policy
Effective date: May 19, 2026
SightFind shows ads to help support maps, sync, slope data, support, and ongoing development. The current build includes Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and may also show clearly labeled first-party promotions. SightFind Plus removes ads.
Current Promotional Formats
- A permanent, non-intrusive RadarCopter promotion may appear in Settings.
- A timed RadarCopter promotion may appear after the app has been used for a while.
- SightFind Plus removes in-app ads and first-party promotional placements without blocking core group, map, slope, and location-sharing features.
- The app includes Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Ads may appear as a banner on some screens and occasionally as a full-screen ad between actions; they never interrupt active AR finding, map tracking, or live group location use.
- The app asks for permission using Apple's App Tracking Transparency. If you allow it, ads may use Apple's advertising identifier to personalize ads; if you decline, ads are non-personalized.
Data Limits
- SightFind does not use precise GPS location, group activity, camera view, support messages, or saved slope downloads for promotional targeting.
- SightFind may use local app-use timing to decide when to show a first-party promotion.
- Opening RadarCopter through the App Store or its website leaves SightFind; Apple or the website may process standard request information under their own policies.
- Production releases that use third-party ads must keep App Store Connect privacy answers, this policy, and the in-app links aligned with the shipped build.
Placement Rules
- Promotions must be clearly labeled.
- Promotions must not hide emergency-relevant controls.
- Promotions must not block active AR friend-finding, map tracking, or live group location use while the user is navigating.
- Promotions must be appropriate for SightFind's App Store age rating.
Sponsorships
If sponsored content is introduced:
- It should be clearly labeled.
- It should not be presented as safety advice, resort authority, rescue guidance, or official terrain status unless it comes from an appropriate official source.
- It should not block AR, map tracking, emergency-relevant controls, or active group location use.
Default Standard
Any monetization should stay low-frequency, clearly labeled, truthful to the shipped build, and secondary to helping people find each other safely.
